Another pass this morning through chapter 2...
As I re-read again the chapter, what stood out to me was the level of brokenness that existed during the time of Noah.

Tripp points to Genesis 6:5 - "The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the  thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

--thoughts were evil continually--  now that is bad...
My first thought is... No wonder God washed the face of the earth with a cataclysmic flood.

But, I must pause...
How far off are we today?   I would hope that when my heart is examined, it is not evil continually.
I don't think it is, but there is certainly some crud in there.

Looking at the landscape of society, it can certainly look pretty bad at times.
I honestly think we get glimpses of the level of evil that exists in some.
I must be careful, however, of criticizing or condemning.

Apart from God's grace in my life, I am sure I would be a very different person.
Perhaps the evil we see is simply a lack of grace.  Grace does not come through hatred and negativity.
Grace comes out of Love.

I would do well to remember that as I interact with those around me today.
