His Glory!

P.D. Tripp's #5 Reason, but not in order of importance that God answer's prayer is His Glory!

This too set me back for a second as I tried to understand why Gods Glory would impact how he responds to my prayers.

I think the answer goes back to the model prayer that Jesus provided in which we asks God's will and kingdom to come, but end with "For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the GLORY forever,"

Tripp makes the point that God's commitment to His glory is OUR only hope.  God's glory draws people to him, people that are willing to forget their own personal glory, their own personal little kingdom and seek His.  I have to be willing to lay my life down and choose Christ and I would not be willing to do this if God was not Glorious.  In a manner of speaking, God has to be the very definition of glory...

Magnificent, Majestic, Worthy of Praise, Without equal...

God answers prayer because His glory is magnified...

Today finishes my time through the chapter for this week...
Tripp finishes the chapter with a 2nd question worth pondering and answering...

With the assurance of God answering prayer... Why do I not pray more.

Tripp's question:
How healthy is my life of prayer?
What keeps me from praying as I should?
What changes do I need to make?

Questions I have asked myself before and will continue to ask.  I don't think I will ever reach a point where I say... Yup, got that down!  But I have made improvements, but still have a long way to go.
I can definitely say I need to carve out more time for focused prayer.  Prayer tends to be the first thing that slides when time is an issue. --- Sad but true.

Have a great weekend!
