His Love

The title of  the 13th chapter of P.D. Tripp's book, a SHELTER in the time OF STORM is "Why Would God Ever Answer Me?

As I read through the devotion this morning, Tripp lays out 5 reason why we can have confidence when we approach God in prayer.  Why we can have hope.

My plan unless otherwise directed will be to take 1 reason a day and simply write about it.
I will attempt to answer the 2nd question Tripp asks at the end of the chapter for each reason He gives.  Do I have any doubts in the reason that are given?

God's love has no bounds.  God's love is perfect.  God's love has no comparison.
He doesn't see me as a pawn, he doesn't view me as distraction or inconvenience.  He never denies me access to His love nor does He turn a cold shoulder.   God's Love is unconditional!
This means I can't earn it and I can 't do something that causes God to remove it.
God Loves me, not because of anything that I have done, am doing, or will do, but because God LOVE.  God's love is incomprehensible, incomparable, unimaginable.
There is no one else that has lived, is living, or that will live, that can Love me as much as God.
He is the perfect Father and delights in me.  Not because of what I do, but simply because of who He is and how He sees me.... His Child.   God is never too busy, distracted, or tired to love me... How do I know?

Romans 8:38-39
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (NLT)

Do I have doubts? maybe the thought crosses my mind on occasion... But really, I do not doubt God's love.  Perhaps I confuse the receiving of Love with getting what I want...  But this is a topic for a different day.

  1. I totally agree with your description of God's love Ryan. I may question His work from time to time or how long He is taking, but I don't think I can say I have ever doubted His love.

    1. I tend to be impatient, especially when I think I know what I need and when. God sees the bigger picture... the full picture... a picture I can never comprehend.
I would wager that He has the timing thing figured out as well.
      Thanks for the comment Bill!
