In Need of Help

Good morning...
The devotion I read this morning could not have come at a better time.
It's title: "People in Need of Help"

When I first read the title, I was expecting to see a chapter recognizing peoples needs and how God was going to use me to meet those needs.  I think that could still be applicable, but I read something else this morning.

The "People" in the title could have been a personal letter about me.

"Do you ever feel overwhelmed?"  ---The first sentence
---ALL THE TIME  is my response.

There is so much packed into this chapter that I don't really even know where to start.
Feelings of inadequacy, lacking of potential, powerlessness, weakness, forgetfulness, sinfulness...

Yet I know God is with me...
Yet I know God is has provided me a helper through the Holy Spirit.
Yet I know God has proven time and time again that he WILL carry me through all things that lay before me.

I just need to remember that God will not leave me or forsake me.  This is His promise to me.
I need to remember that I am not going at life alone
I need to remember that God has carried me before and He won't stop now.

I also need to remember that if I am not being stretched beyond my own abilities, knowledge, and capacity... I am probably not relying on God enough.  I am probably not growing.

As much as I hesitate saying this... "God stretch me, grow me, guide and direct me.  Help me to rely on you."

Readers, I ask for prayer this morning.  I don't want to provide specifics at this time, but my family could use discernment and direction.  God knows my heart and I want to know His on a specific matter at hand.  Thank you in advanced!

  1. Ryan, I will definitely keep you and your family in prayer as you wait for God's direction in your lives.
    Blessings, my friend!

  2. i am late to this party my friend. just got it this morning. You have done well in focusing on how "I" need help. As for the prayers, you know you have them. Give me a call or text if you want to talk or to share pictures of the cruise. Love ya my friend.

    1. There is definitely more focus on how much I need help than how much help I can give others in this chapter. Thank you for the prayers, Would love to get together and share cruise stories and pictures.
